the big painting action I was involved in earlier this month, in the town of Lüneburg, was part of the university freshers week, and all the new students had to make short films about the projects.
here's the films made about me. I think my favourite is the one with the little kid drawing - he draws with both hands at the same time! awesome!
the only thing THIS chimp is grieving is the end of summer. the prospect of another Berlin winter weighs heavy on my soul...

We're all slowly turning into cyborgs here at www.davethechimp.co.uk, a bit like that Charles Burns comic book, where the teenagers think it's cool to slowly replace parts of their bodies with robot parts. One day maybe we'll be lucky enough to become 100% robotic...
A week or so ago I was in Lüneberg in the north of Germany to paint a mural
Of the 6 designs I submitted, this was the one the people organising the project chose
I was a little disappointed at first. But now I kinda like it. I'm getting into this simple vibe, flowing lines, random shapes. Seems you lot seem to like the simple stuff too. And, y'know, I guess it leaves space for you to make your own stories and meanings about pieces. Like with the white worms/ghosts - everyone calls them something different, sees different things. So I guess if I can communicate to many people with these simple gestures then I win all round - my work appeals, communicates, AND i don't have to spend days slaving over each piece. I think this mural took me around 3 hours of actual physical work, plus two hours of dicking around, carrying paint, doing interviews, talking to passers-by. That means I was earning 100 bucks an hour! Damn, I need more jobs like that!!!
